Removing Single Use Plastic from the Guest Experience

Every year on Earth Day, Accor celebrates environmental commitments in hotels around the world. In 2022 Accor shared its commitment to remove single use plastic from the guest experience by year end.

This sustainability initiative ensures the benefits of tourism go beyond guests, extending to the betterment of environment as we work to reduce the impacts associated with our operations.

This means removing items inclduing plastic straws in our restaurant and bar, plastic water bottles in rooms, and individual toileteries and vanity sets in bathrooms.

In their place, more sustainable options will be made available to our guests, such as paper straws in the restaurant and bar, and refillable shampoo, conditoner, and soap in guest rooms.

Climate change is the greatest challenge humanity is facing. Now more than ever, it’s crucial that we act collectively to protect life on earth.

As part of the Accor group that employs more than 230,000 team members in 110 countries and owns more than 5,300 properties, we believe we can have an impact in shaping the future of travel and making it more sustainable.
