Restoring Green Spaces with Mudcrabs
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, the team at Novotel Sydney International Airport proudly partnered with Mudcrabs (Cooks River Mudcrabs) — a dedicated local volunteer group working to restore the natural habitats around the Cooks River.
This hands-on bush regeneration activity involved identifying and removing invasive plant species that threaten local biodiversity. Our team also planted native tubestock — young native plants grown specifically for revegetation — and applied mulch to help retain soil moisture, suppress weed growth, and protect the newly planted flora.
These efforts are not only vital for preserving the area's ecological balance but also help restore native bushland that supports local wildlife and contributes to a healthier, more resilient natural environment.
At Novotel, sustainability is at the core of our values. From everyday operations to community partnerships and environmental initiatives like this, we are continuously looking for ways to reduce our ecological footprint and support a greener, more sustainable future.
Together, we believe that small actions can create meaningful change — for our planet, our people, and future generations.
