Sydney Mardi Gras 2025
The Sydney Mardi Gras Festival 2025 returns from February 14 to March 2, marking its 47th year as one of the world’s most iconic celebrations of LGBTQIA+ pride, visibility, and unity. This year’s theme, “Free to Be”, champions the power of authenticity, self-expression, and community spirit.
Over 17 exciting days, Sydney transforms into a hub of queer culture with an inspiring mix of:
Fair Day in Victoria Park – a family-friendly celebration with over 200 community stalls, food trucks, drag performances, live music, and picnic vibes.
Mardi Gras Film Festival – showcasing bold, moving, and diverse LGBTQIA+ stories across Australian and international cinema.
Live Music, Comedy & Theatre – featuring powerful performances, premieres, and creative works celebrating queer voices.
Workshops, Panels & Activations – spaces to learn, share, and connect with the community on important social issues.
After Dark Parties – from rooftop sets to mega dance floors, Sydney’s nightlife comes alive with headline DJs, dazzling drag, and inclusive energy.
The heart of the festival is the Mardi Gras Parade, held on Saturday, March 1, lighting up Oxford Street with over 200 spectacular floats, costumes, dancers, and music. It’s more than a parade – it’s a joyful protest, a proud celebration, and a statement of solidarity that draws thousands of locals and visitors alike.
Whether you’re marching, dancing, cheering, or celebrating from the sidelines, Sydney Mardi Gras 2025 invites everyone to stand proud, feel the love, and be free to be exactly who they are.
